Staff report

Canfield

Eight people were sent to the hospital after a two-car accident on Raccoon Road on Thursday.

A Lincoln Navigator, with a driver and six passengers, was headed south on Raccoon when a Mercury Grand Marquis traveling north turned into Do-Cut True Value Hardware, 6442 S. Raccoon Road.

The driver of the Marquis did not yield, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Navigator hit the Marquis when it turned. The sport-utility vehicle then veered off the right side of the road, hitting a sign and utility pole.

The seven people in the SUV and the driver of the Marquis were taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center.
