ARTS FESTIVAL Today’s schedule
The 12th annual Summer Festival of the Arts continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at and near Youngstown State University. A sampling of vendors, events and performances:
10 a.m. : Community worship service at First Presbyterian Church of Youngstown, 201 Wick Ave.
11 a.m.: Julius Veal, Lemon Grove stage on West Federal Street.
11 a.m. and noon: County Mayo to perform near the Kilcawley fountain.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m: Rich Center for the Study and Treatment of Autism: People can add a puzzle piece to a mural and do a craft.
11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.: Chalk on the Blocks: Chalk-coloring festivities near the McDonough Museum of Art.
11 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Students Motivated by the Arts store open to sell artwork for all ages. Also to feature drum circles and crafts. Western Reserve Opera’s silent auction. Festival of Nations with ethnic foods and performances. Alex’s Lemonade Stand to sell lemon baked goods as part of the Festival of Nations. Rust Belt Theater Co., a new theater group. Friends of Maag Library’s book sale in front of Maag Library. Three Letters Youngstown public art project: Forty artists with canvas and paint, near DeBartolo Hall. Mahoning County Green Team, YSU ReCreate and Youngstown Litter Control and Recycling Artists’ Marketplace.
Noon and 1 p.m.: Little Star that Could show at Ward Beecher Planetarium.
Noon to 4 p.m.: Free admission to the Youngstown Historical Center of Industry and Labor, 151 W. Wood St.
Noon to 5 p.m.: Children’s hands-on art projects under a tent near the center of the festival.
1 p.m.: Burke School of Irish Dance, Kilcawley Center’s Chestnut Room. J.D. Eicher & The Goodnights, Kilcawley fountain. Ralph Rich, Lemon Grove.
2 p.m. :Sky Pilot, Lemon Grove.
2 and 3 p.m.: Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity, Ward Beecher Planetarium.
4 p.m.: Rocco Salt, Lemon Grove. The Unit featuring Jeff Green, Kilcawley fountain.
