Feds vs. state again in suit against Arizona law

Published: Wed, July 7, 2010 @ 11:45 a.m.

PHOENIX (AP)— The federal lawsuit against Arizona’s tough new immigration law focuses heavily on a question that has been in the spotlight repeatedly the past decade and dates to the Founding Fathers: The right of the government to keep states from enacting laws that usurp federal authority. The lawsuit filed in Phoenix federal court on Tuesday sidestepped concerns about the potential for racial profiling and civil rights violations most often raised by immigration advocates. Experts said those are weaker arguments that don’t belong in a legal challenge brought by the White House to get the measure struck down.

"The right of the government to keep states from enacting laws that usurp federal authority. "- - -"[U]surp" is inaccurate. How about the state of Arizona doing what the Feds are intentionally neglecting in order to erase our borders and our nation?

Agreed. The Fed isn't doing much of anything to keep illegals out of the country. And those illegals that are here working and making a living aren't paying taxes, paying social security, contributing to our countries growing debt, the list goes on. If the Fed won't do anything about it, I suggest more states follow suit with Arizona. We are, after all, the United States on America.

oboma is trying to destroy the private sector- he wants a massive, centrally planned country with goverment involvement in every aspect of it's citizens lives-basicly an instutionalized society. he is anti-america as most people unstand america--then he can enact social programs to right all the past wrongs thgat america committed against the world-i.e. his justice department ,if someone would of fought back against those black panthers you can bet they would of been prosecuted

Come November, do your part and vote the Dems out of Congress. This is getting ridiculous.

So the feds sue AZ for enacting a law that mirrors the federal law that the Justice dept. doesn't want to enforce but they let sanctuary cities, such as San Francisco, violate the law daily or won't prosecute the Black Panthers for voter intimidation, even though we have video proof? What is happening to my country? Vote them ALL out of office in November!
