YSU union has money missing

Published: Fri, July 2, 2010 @ 6:00 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN

The president of the Association of Classified Employees union at Youngstown State University has informed his membership that as much as $17,000 may be missing from the union treasury.

Brian K. Brennan, in an email sent to the union membership Thursday, said the union treasurer discovered some major discrepancies in the financial records and union leadership has notified the Ohio Education Association of the problem.

The union, which reprsents administrative assistants, secretaries, computer center employees, maintenance workers and others, is an affiliate of the statetwide Ohio Education Association union.

An investigation is under way by the association, and a Mahoning County grand jury has subpoenaed union financial records in regards to the matter, Brennan said in his email.

Brennan couldn’t be reached to comment, and Charlene Yusko, union first vice president, referred calls to Atty. Ira Mirkin, who said he couldn’t comment on the matter.

Efforts to reach Paul Gains, Mahoning County prosecutor, were unsuccessful.

Is there any surprise?

We're talking the protocol of lie, cheat. steal that's the mantra of Y. S. Shrew here folks.

It's already clearly proven to be nothing less than a dupe palace playing a joke on scholastics.

As an absolute entitlement eating, stipend stealing, grant guzzling and loan leeching abatement abyss

As thee area's biggest Jip joint that along with draining the area of any and or all fair comparison for aide funds funding.

By business plan it collectively serves as a fraud job depot for despots, cesspool for incredulous criminals and a dysfunctional dispenser of didactically indigent dummies.

Granted where there's a very minuscule select few that escapes to emerge from the scheme pool. To possess the groundwork for an education and managed to acquire street smarts. And or laymen levity somewhere along the lines of a specific field knowledge,.. but they're as RARE as hens teeth.

Also,.. that's NOT the same little dwarfish, glue fingered and tough but slow as molasses Brian Brennan that played for the Cleveland Clowns years ago.

That Brian Brennan as the former Cleveland Brown slot receiver. Is still in the Cleveland area and now serves as an executive within the organization of Key Bank.

I know. It was a joke.

So Nunya, would you be in favor of shuttering the university?

It appears that someone wasn't satisfied with the last raise he/she received.

@TB

Close it down?,.. Absolutely !!!!

But not permanently and the operational disruption would only be for a brief period for a mass sweep and cleanup to be performed.

See beyond opinion or any speculation it's well known fact that corruption is so rampant and deeply embedded down there. That any effort to allow continued operation in conjunction with the magnitude of sweep that's required.

Would be of such a hindrance to trying to stop the operational fraud amidst vast channels working in concert. That would be counter productively orchestrating ongoing cover ups, presenting cooked books and hailing such a litany of false statements.

That they'd be given an insurmountable advantage to subvert any mass findings to correct to perform a true cleanup effort.

So the total stoppage would be required where intrinsic forms of reviewing mass channels. In manners of exact verifications, restructuring and ferreting out the criminal control and influence can be conducted.

Those aspects would be in auditing, reviewing payroll, tenure, appointments and setting up a host of elections to board and trustee seats.

That would include opening up an array of positions for qualified applicants. To apply and replace the heard of corrupt crooks and cronies, that's merely check cashing perched in those various seats right now.

See that sprawling facility could and should be a beacon of genuine success, opportunity and educational advancement. With a mission statement plus in refining, retaining and recruiting bright minds and staunch character to habit the school and area.

Which along with education is a vital aspect and approach to transforming it into a true asset to the area and region.

Which is paramount if there's ever going to be a genuine resurgence launched. For which the city, state and fed are certainly paying enough to be worthy of receiving that type of role reversal return.

However as it stands right now YSU is merely a conduit for mass criminality and corruption. That via protocol and an array of perched pollutants.

YS Shrew serves as an adverse anchor that's merely a check riding exchange from crooks and cronies.

Feeding off the area funding as a no return on investments sponge. That's sucking up financial aide and funding under the guise of a prop job education operation.

Where absolute crooks circle wagons dispensing it among themselves as a collective sum of the crowd that's proved to be as worthless and ruthless as they come.

Nunya, I'm familiar with some of the issues happening at YSU (the Vindicator is not afraid to print them), but I wasn't aware that it was to the extent that you say it is.

I suppose you can document the extent of the corruption that you say exists?

@northsideperson

That onus isn't on me,..

See not only that but I'll not make blind assertions to embellish nor oppose without cause. However, there are more than enough facts already known to know that whats been going on down there is orchestration of criminal fraud and abject failure at the very least.

Where to not be evasive but to add to the continuous unfurling of corruption. To document more intrinsic specifics with inclusive names, conclusive amounts and what parties by name, title and time of said held positions.

Would require unfettered access to pull the books and records along with questioning various individuals. On matters regarding transactions pursuant to wage agreements, hirings and an array of positional placements.

That's paramount to perform and exact what I've stated is unquestionably needed to be performed.

See aside from { and I take no offense to } your history of defensive posturing. In regards to your advocating turning a blind eye to how deplorable YS Shrew has established and continues to reconfirm it's operation to be.

I assertively and non combatively interject that there's no such onus upon me to pen any documentary of their pattern of travails of theft based treachery.

Because aside from asking you, if whats so historically and constantly in the news about the scandal laden operation. For whatever reason isn't enough for you to see the Forrest amidst the trees.

Then you've clearly chosen to walk in total denial. In spite knowing those trees you're trying to avoid aren't of scenic Arbor day variety either.

On that note,.. aside from recently placing in the top 88 in campus tree population. What has YSU been recognized for and or as?

See amidst their instances of pilfering their big news is announcing landing more whooping sums of state and federal grant money,.. beyond uncanny it's profoundly cyclical.

Yet apparently you're presuming or would like to contend, that the serial similarities of fraud, waste, theft incidents.

Along with being on record of employing a collection of notoriously corrupt criminally driven individuals. To include relatives, namesakes and lifelong cronies there of.

Are mere a litany of insequential, patternless happenstances and non connected isolated incidents criminal in nature.

That by some stroke of mere repetitive irony are neither reflective nor correlating pretenses of relevance nor of consequence criminality at all. Which is well within your personal rights and individual prerogative.

PART II

However, see there's a tried and true theorem of adhering to recognizing.

Once an incident, Twice a pattern and beyond third time being the pattern of charm it's a distinct decorum of identity.

See it doesn't bring me great nor any pleasure to speak so candidly and openly about a venue that's detracting away from the progress or stability of an area I hailed from.

But it's the proverbial 800 lb Elephant in the room that's perched on stealing all the valleys peanuts.

Thus if it's going to change, I certainly know any advocating subscribing to lying about it isn't conducive to correcting the path, pattern or problem.

As well as noting and accepting it's too big of a problem, vast epidemic and costly as a liability to dare continuing trying to continue sweeping it under any rug.

Now,.. if questioned would I relish assisting in contributing providing my knowledge, experience and abilities. To unselfishly provide the community such a service to bring such corruption to a halt,... ABSOLUTELY !!!
