President Clinton to attend fundraiser in Canfield Tuesday

Published: Mon, January 4, 2010 @ 6:05 p.m.

CANFIELD — Ex-President Bill Clinton will be the featured guest Tuesday at a dinner to raise money for Gov. Ted Strickland’s re-election bid at the Canfield home of local businessman Bruce Zoldan.

The event is expected to raise between $100,000 and $150,000 for Strickland, who actively campaigned for Clinton’s wife, Hillary, during her failed 2008 bid to be the Democratic presidential nominee.

When thousands of private dollars are given to an elected official after the election it is legitimately called a bribe. When they are given to that candidate before the election, for exactly the same purpose, it is called a campaign contribution. What is the real difference, folks? In both cases, private money is buying a public official. Legal bribery is just as bad as illegal bribery. No, it is worse since there is a lot more of it.

And of course, no Republican hands have ever been soiled in such a manner! Would the self-righteous among you be complaining if it was the bloody hands of Bush or any of his cronies (can you say 'Kasich'?) reaching out grubbing for the cash?
