South Avenue shooting victim is from Pennsylvania

Published: Sat, February 20, 2010 @ 10:15 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — The man killed in a triple shooting on the city’s South Side has been identified.

Mark A. Trulson, 32, of Hartstown, Pa., died just before 11 p.m. Friday in St. Elizabeth Health Center of a gunshot wound to the head, according to a report from the Mahoning County Coroner’s Office.

Trulson, Michelle Difrischia and Charles Gerh were shot around 9:40 p.m. Friday while in a pick-up truck outside the South Avenue Gas Mart on South Avenue.

According to the coroner’s report, Trulson has been involved in an altercation on South at Williamson Avenue, which ended with the shooting at the convenience store, at 2325 South.

All three victims were taken to St. E’s.

A hospital spokeswoman said condition reports for Difrischia and Gehr won’t be released to the public because they are trauma victims, but city police said Friday one was shot in the arm and the other in the back.

Trulson’s murder is the eighth in the city this year. There were three homicides in the city at this time last year.

Lots of unanswered questions abound in this case . I suspect that drug activity brought the victims into town .

Just shows that no matter where you're from, stay the f out of Youngstown. I think it was "wrong place, wrong time". Thugs running amok as usual and poor police patrol.

As I said yesterday, why don't they just put 100 foot high monkey cage around Youngstown's perimeter and let these gangsta hoodlums kill each other off till they are all dead except the last one standing who can be arrested? That would also keep the suburbanites from coming into Youngstown looking for drugs or whatever. I am sick of all the killings and it is black gangsta hoodlums who are doing them. Mayor Jay & his YPD are doing very little to correct this horrible situation.

"WE ALL KNOW IF YOUR WHITE THE CITY COMES TO YOUR RESCUE"

A little racism there? Shouldn't matter the color of your skin. And if your talking about Angeline Fimognari you really are a piece of work. I pray that the next victim isn't you or your family or someone you love.

Yeah ricnsherri thats all you get up on these posts is those sticking up for each other based on race. Its sad thats the way it is but these people only see color not the reality of life. Fimognari murderer was found due to the $1,000 award and you better believe it was black folks that turned him in. Its sad however that black folks wont turn others in when it comes to a black person being killed with no reward. Again black people need to step up and take responsibility for their actions and those of the community. White people need to stop blaming black folks for certain issues as well.White people run the government even though a black man is President and its this minority of individuals who are responsible for the lack of jobs, education, etc in the commun ity. However it is also the responsibility of black folks in the Yo to take parenting, education, self respect, etc etc etc to make their community better.

Yall two posters need to chill out with those black and white racial replys.

Yes sometimes it takes long for some cases and some cases dont take that long, to help solve them faster the public needs to help more by telling. As for the taxes statement last time I checked everyone who works pay taxes not just white people.

I know the victims. The driver wasnt a bad person (Mark).I dont do drugs and dont care if someone does. If you do live that sort of life shame on you if you go to an area known for trouble without being prepared for it. In this case it was just poor preparation for their operation. Everyones got problems of some sort. Second Im from same place the victims are. Greenville Pa and I dont come to y-town for drugs.I go for concerts and poon tang so not everyone goes there for drugs. Not everything about y-town is bad theres alot of talent from that area.
