YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for two men who walked into an Ohio Avenue home and robbed the occupants at gunpoint.
According to police, the victims — three of them students at Youngstown State University living in the area immediately outside of campus — were all in their late teens or early 20s. There were four men and one woman in the house at the time of the robbery.
Police said a black man in his 30s, about 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 300 pounds with a stubble beard and carrying a gun, walked into the house through an unlocked front door just before 10 p.m. Thursday.
He was followed by another black man in his 20s, 5 feet 7 inches tall, and wearing a ski mask over his face with a multicolored hoodie.
The gunman made the victims lay face down on the floor while rummaging through their pockets. He took a debit card and a cell phone, and threatened to come back if there was no money on the debit card.
The two men left through the front door and were gone before police arrived.

Shouldn't be hard to find "Bubba" (30 yrs old, 6'2'',300 pounds). As far as the ski mask multicolored hoodie thug hopefully he doesn't have the brains to diss the hoodie and ski mask.
Robbing YSU students at gunpoint, 30/20 years old, make something of your life instead of stealing from innocent people at gunpoint!
Good luck on catching them . Lock the door the next time . At least no one got shot this time .
This Vindy reporter must be racist as he stated it was 2 black men who robbed these students at gunpoint.....or maybe it was a Houser relative!
Nice headline, Vindy! It was THREE STUDENTS who were robbed, not three thugs who did the robbery!
If we want to continue to see enrollment go up we had better make it safe for these kids.

"biggie wants to come back if there isn't enough money in the account. not sure what to say about that. "
If you don't give up a substantial amount of money the subculture will retaliate and shoot you . They feel that you owe them and will administer street justice . Will each offense that they escape prosecution they get emboldened all the more .
HERE WE GO WITH RACIST CARD AGAIN. TIME TO CLEAN UP YOUNGSTOWN. THIS IS WHY NOBODY WANT'S TO LIVE THERE.IDIOT'S FOR NOT LOCKING THERE DOORS BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE TO.CLEAN IT UP OR FALL APART!
justice48 :
This is Youngstown AKA CRIMETOWN . If you can't protect yourself the best that law enforcement can do is to write up a report when they arrive . They can't be there 24/7 to baby sit you .
BTW locking your door is the first line of defense . The second is calling 911 on any attempted entry .
YOU ARE 100% RIGHT STAN. PEOPLE NEED TO START PROTECTING THEIR SELFS. MY DOOR IS ALWAYS LOCKED NO MATTER WHAT.
Like I've posted before and was called names, but when people talk about losing their rights and worry about Bush tapping their phones, why should I have to lock my doors or not go into most parts of the city? These animals are taking away our freedoms and yet we still have those out there making excuses for them. We've got to start calling a spade a spade, no more PC crap and get our real freedom back.
Political correctness = . ...
It sure was fortunate that no one in the home was armed and that these thugs weren't hurt in their solicitation .
"He took a debit card and a cell phone, and threatened to come back if there was no money on the debit card."
Yep ! They have rights !

When an unborn baby has no value and criminals have value we are in deep scat !
LET US NOT FORGET YPD OFFICER PAUL DURKIN WHO WAS GUNNED DOWN BY ONE OF THESE THUGS ON THE NORTHSIDE !
Until society learns that human behavior can be moderated by social policy (ie, make the community safer by ending "social justice"), you can protect yourself by:
Obtaining and using a concealed carry permit.
Situational Awareness
Lock your door
Alarm your house
Learn fundamentals of self-defense
Stop voting for advocates of social justice (ie, libs) that creates the perfect conditions for a high crime rate.
@theguins Your comment is ridiculous.
Also why are some people thinking a political party have something to do with crime going up or down?
MrsRupp :
"I have just 2 word for thugs who break in...... "CASTLE LAW"
Has it been tested in Youngstown yet ? The thugs don't seem to fear getting shot .
@USA1 So crime doesn't happen/ go up with a republican party?
My main point on the question is crime was still here and going up with whoever is in office. So with that being said why did crime go up with republicans in office? Like I been saying on this site on the government issue our gov is real corrupt neither party is better than the other in my opinion.
Nunya22,
Government can reduce the crime rate. Violent crime is associated with the breakdown of the family, socioeconomic factors such as feeling financially helpless, and normalization of the counter-culture.
The government creates conditions ripe for crime by paying people not to work, punishing those who do work, instituting policies that provide financial incentives for divorce or never-marrying, redefining marriage, and policies that encourage government-dependence and sloth.
The GOP is not innocent here, but the Democratic-Socialist Party is profoundly guilty of supporting policies that increase rates of crime.

Nunya, Like USA posted, the libs/dems create the conditions for crime, but the criminals don't go away when republicans are in office. Nor do the conditions the libs/dems put in place go away when republicans are in office.
I guess we all have a difference of opinion on that. But @ Nonsocialist I agree our government could do more to reducing crime. As for paying not to work there are alot of different reasons some are good and some aren't . Here is a list of some good examples for not working old age, injury, mentally unstable, and some kind of health reason. The people who choose not to work just because are required to work job sites to keep there little checks after a certain period of time. Now something that I dont agree with is people who are on drugs getting ssi just to blow it on drugs that needs to change. What policies are you referring to that would make that provide financial incentives for divorce or never marrying and redefining marriage? My personal opinion on marriage from the beginning marriage was never respected people have cheated on their spouses and hid the truth for years and brag about how great and sacred it is. There are some people who cherish and respect all the values of marriage but I just wanted to state how marriage of today didn't just start failing now or am I saying anyone is saying that. In the so called good old days alot of things were hidden and was said to be great when it wasn't just now alot of people are not hiding it anymore and coming foraward than what they use to do in the old days.
I just feel crime going up main reason isn't all to be blamed on a political party .People need to be accountable for their actions always blaming why they committed a crime.
Last thing I want to say in general both political parties have good and bad with each of them. Neither one of these political parties can please and help every person in this country.
Nunya22,
I could write an encyclopedia on how the government pays people not to work. Most of the Federal government's massive budget is on entitlement spending. One of the most abused programs is Social Security Disability. People find a push-over doctor to declare them disabled for things like "Social Anxiety Disorder" and then they collect a check and travel, work under the table, exercise and live a life of leisure.
The government provides financial incentives for divorce by:
-punitive alimony awards
-punitive and wildly gender-biased custody and "child"-support awards.
-Marriage Tax Penalty
I agree with you about Political Parties. They divert the allegiance of the voters and rulers from country to party. That's why I think they should be abolished.
This type of criminal behavior should not be tolerated in our neighborhoods. The issue is complex, but a practical method to deter this type of behavior would be for neighbors to organize a block watch. To end crimes like this, people need to watch out for each other and report suspicious activity to the police.
To my knowledge, that neighborhood north of campus (The Wick Park area) is in the process of developing a strengthening neighborhood association. Perhaps smaller block watch groups are also necessary. I wouldn't be surprised if this type of crime starts to become scarce as these type of organizations begin to establish themselves in the neighborhood.
The proper term for a robbery would be "asset adjustment". To deter an asset adjustment the thugs need an attitude adjustment . The proper way to do an attitude adjustment is through retraining . They they quickly learn or are unable to continue their criminal activity . Crime will only continue if the criminals gain cash and material goods for their endeavors . When their rewards are pain and no gain it ends .
