Ravens defeat Browns, tie Steelers

Published: Sun, December 26, 2010 @ 4:48 p.m.

CLEVELAND (AP) — Joe Flacco threw two touchdown passes, Baltimore’s defense bottled up Cleveland’s Peyton Hillis, and the Ravens clinched their third straight playoff appearance, beating the Browns 20-10 on Sunday.

Ed Reed intercepted rookie Colt McCoy twice as the Ravens (11-4) stayed in contention for the AFC North title. They remain tied with Pittsburgh for the division lead with one game left.

Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis promised Hillis would not repeat his 144-yard performance against Baltimore in Week 3, and the big back didn’t, rushing for 35 yards on 12 carries.

McCoy threw three interceptions and the Browns (5-10) did nothing to help embattled coach Eric Mangini, who fell to 10-21 in two seasons and will await a postseason review by president Mike Holmgren.

Full story appears in Monday’s edition of The Vindicator.

dude, i enjoy a browns loss just as much as anyone, but you sound like an idiot. a browns win today would have HELPED the steelers....giving the good players 2 weeks rest before the playoffs. instead, they have to play their starters next week in order to hold onto the the first round bye.

and the browns moved because the city of cleveland refused to build a new stadium. kind of like how the penguins almost left pittsburgh. luckily, mario isn't modell.

bird,

That hurt us Cleveland losing. Not only did Baltimore clinch a playoff spot, now we have to go into Cleveland next week. You remember last year when we were fighting for at least a playoff spot?
I'll refresh your memory.
Browns - 16
Steelers - 6
So next weeks game is not going to be easy.

BTW, at the game Thursday, we had over 3,000 no shows.
Cleveland today had a attendance of 65,028, which isn't bad for a cold late December day right after Christmas with a 5-10 team.

Go STEELERS!

I was at the game, there were 65,000 people, easily.I will be at the Browns vs Steelers, next week,it should be a very interesting game.

Mangini will be gone after the season is over,I look for the Browns to play a good game, with a lot of trick plays.

PenguinBird's constant comments about the Browns makes me wonder if he's overcompensating for something missing in his life, like perhaps an actual life. Perhaps he has no real friends, or has a very small you know what. And by the way, I could care less about football...and I certainly hope that his moniker (look it up) of Penguin...indicates he's a Pen's fan and not a YSU athletic supporter. YSU has more class than that. Happy New Year!
