POLAND — U.S. Rep.-elect Bill Johnson wants to sell his house in Poland after the holidays and likely relocate to the Marietta area, the central part of the 6th Congressional District.
Johnson’s house on Hunters Hill in Poland is not in the 6th Congressional District — it’s in the 17th, about two miles from that 12-county district that includes about half of Mahoning County and all of Columbiana County.
Marietta in Washington County is in the heart of the district. It was the only area specifically named as a potential new home for Johnson, a Republican, and his family in a statement from Christian Palich, Johnson’s transition director, about a move. Johnson has family members in Washington County.

Wait, how did he get elected in a district he doesn't live in?
Two reasons why this may not be the best idea. First, the fate of his predesessor, Mr. "One Term" Wilson. Why move when you may be out in 2 years?
And second, a little thing called redistricting which may toss out the ridiculous 300 mile long 6th district, or merge it with another one.
Not a big deal not living in Congressional districts. Charlie Wilson did not live in the district. Strickland claimed he lived in Lisbon, but did not really. Did Boccieri?
nojimbo: Not to nitpick, but Charlie "One Term" Wilson actually served two terms. I think you're thinking of John Boccieri.
CensoredShip, find me where in the US Constitution it states a US Representative must live in the district they are elected!
Did it ever dwell on you that NOBODY except yourself is making a big deal about it? Ever think that may be the case because his actions are L-E-G-A-L?
