Neighbors | Shaiyla Hakeem .Preschoolers at Willow Creek Learning Center sang about Thanksgiving's history Tuesday during class. The interactive song talked about the first winter and how the pilgrims became friends with the Native Americans.

Students had a hard time choosing whether they wanted to wear a Pilgrim hat, bonnet or Native American headdress Tuesday for a special classroom celebration.

Preschoolers at Willow Creek Learning Center celebrated the bond that was made between Pilgrims and Native Americans through a Thanksgiving lunch. They went over the history of the holiday and learned about how the Pilgrims migrated to America and the hardships they faced in the foreign land.

The meal was prepared by the hands of the students. The class was broken into small groups to make popcorn, mixed fruit, juice and corn bread for the feast.

Following lunch, the preschoolers were joined by the kindergartners to dance with ribbons to a Native American folk song and were reminded that Thanksgiving is intended to give thanks to God for the good things in their lives.
