BOARDMAN

Police say tips after the broadcast of security-camera footage led them to arrest a 14-year-old in the robbing of a business at gunpoint.

The teen, of Youngstown, was arrested Monday morning, charged with one count of aggravated robbery.

The teen is accused of stealing $100 and a necklace from Hair Depot on Market Street on Nov. 18.

According to reports, a person entered the store and said “Give me the money” to an employee, pulling a black pistol from his waistband.

The teen was arrested at the Martin P. Joyce Juvenile Justice Center, where he had been detained in an unrelated matter.

“Reporters and the public have assisted us in solving crimes in this case and in the past,” said Chief Jack Nichols.

He added that the number of violent crimes committed by juveniles seems to be consistent over the last few years.

Yep.... Sad but true I agree Bellamy. Best just put a bullet in their head and make an example out of them for the rest of the 14 year old thugs to see. Too bad were so "SOFT" on crime. I guess until we get serious this is going to be the norm.

It's time to charge these thugs as adults, stop the juvenile charges. If they are man enough to use a gun, then they are man enough to be adults.

We have been soft on crime for way to long.

This kid/thug/punk will be back on the street within a week; they will cry overcrowding, juvenile, more important cases, which they will in turn roll into plea's and those more violent thugs will be loose as well. I've been saying this for a long time: take the streets back on our own!!! Bellamy, we grew up the same time, had to. You speak the way it was; elders took control and straightened these kids out on their own. That was cool until some lawyer made it favorable to call it abuse and put a stop to it!

I bet he never participates in school work, nor can he ever pass a weekly quiz.

What great kids being raised today by some parent(s)? They are doing wonders for humanity...do they even have a reason to be alive? At the rate they are going, even God will not take them.

What a failure to society and himself. If he were Muslim, they would cut off his fingers.
