Sharon Sprints limited, charity in Mercer

Staff report

Tonight’s action at Sharon Speedway will be the conclusion of points racing for Friday Night Thunder.

As part of the racing action, 305 Sprints are invited to run with the Limited Sprint class.

“A lot of people don’t understand how cost effective Limited Sprints can be. The cost of the motor is 25 percent of that of a 410 motor and the life is four times longer,” Sharon Speedway general manager Dave Willoughy said. “However, we have not received the response that we hoped for. Sharon Speedway has made the decision to try some different things here at the end of the year to see which direction the speedway needs to go next season.”

The Mod Lites, Sportsman, Micro Sprints, 2 bbl E-Mods and Hobby Stocks will also race. Gates open at 5 p.m. with racing at 7.

The FASTRAK Late Models will race at Sharon Speedway on Saturday. It’ll also be the last night of points racing for the Big Blocks, E-Mods, Pro Stocks, Limited Sprints and Hobby Stocks.

The Limited Sprint drivers will be available for autographs on Saturday and the evening will also feature the Powder Puff Race. Fans who attend Friday Night Thunder and present their tickets the next day will receive $3 off general admission tickets.
