Davie spends quiet night before his execution
Roderick Davie spent the evening and much of the night talking to family members on the phone in the hours leading up to his scheduled execution this morning.
Julie Walburn, spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, described Davie’s mood as: “Very quiet. He’s been very cooperative but very quiet, not a lot of interaction”
Davie spent the evening visiting with his brother and sister-in-law. He declined a special evening meal, but did eat the prison-issued vegetarian meal Monday night.
He spent most of the night talking on the phone with his mother, daughter and a niece.
Davie is scheduled to be executed at 10 a.m. today for murdering two people in Warren 19 years ago.
