On Monday two locations on Mahoning Avenue will be closed for pavement replacement, the Ohio Department of Transportation said.
The Mahoning Avenue entrance ramp to Interstate 680 southbound and the intersection with McKinley Avenue will be closed for 14 days.
The work is part of a $700,000 project to resurface Mahoning from Meridian Road to Interstate 680. It should be completed in September.
VA clinic picnic
The volunteers of the Youngstown VA Outpatient Clinic are sponsoring their ninth annual picnic for area veterans and patients of the clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the clinic parking lot, 2031 Belmont Ave.
All veterans are welcome. There will be food, soft drinks, snacks and a raffle.
Children’s Clinic hours for immunizations will be Wednesday and Aug. 18 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the health department, 34 W. State St.
No appointments are necessary, and no one will be refused for inability to pay, health department officials said.
Children should be feeling well on immunization days, with no illness, fever or rash. You must have your children’s immunization records. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Annual book sale
The Warren-Trumbull County Public Library, 444 Mahoning Ave. NW, will be closed for regular business Saturday to accommodate the annual Friends of the Warren Library book sale.
Branch libraries that are normally open Saturday (Brookfield, Cortland, Howland and Liberty) will remain open for business.
The book sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 3 p.m. next Sunday at the main library.
