Police arrested a 33-year-old city man on suspicion of drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia after they said he attempted to inject drugs while hooked to an intravenous pump while a patient in the hospital.
Police left the Lexington Avenue man in Forum Health Northside Medical Center for continued treatment, however.
It is unclear why he was initially admitted to the hospital.
According to reports, a nurse went into the man’s room for a routine check just before 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, but the man screamed for her not to come into the room.

If he was able to shoot up he was able to go to jail.......................this is why Ytown is a joke the court system allows it, Jimmy and YPD get a grip! Clean up the city of the madness.
LadyTaz:
Why would you blame the YPD for this mess. His addiction shows that he is going to get his high no matter what. YPD cant just drag a patient out of the hospital on low level crimes against the Doctors advice or it would put the city at risk. If the tax levy fails the Police wont even be able to get Felons let alone drug addicts into the jail.
The 1/2 percent sales tax is NOT going to affect police services in the city one way or the other. That tax is for the county only. The county sheriff's deputies do not service Youngstown and YPD is not funded by county funds.
She is blaming Hughes and YPD, rightfully so, because people are fed up with the crime in Youngstown. The city is just a playground for low lifes.
Contrary to what people think, it is a small percentage of the population in the city committing most of the crimes. Most of these people are repeat offenders who have bee in and out of the system their whole lives.
Another 33 year old useless waste.
