COLUMUBUS — The estranged wife of ex-Attorney General Marc Dann pleaded guilty today to a misdemeanor ethics charge in connection with the ongoing ethics investigation into Dann’s administration.
Alyssa Lenhoff Dann, who filed for divorce two weeks ago, was fined $1,000 and given a 10-day suspended jail sentence for having an unlawful interest in a public contract.
Lenhoff Dann was found guilty in Franklin County Municipal Court of improperly attempting to secure a $6,500 grant from the attorney general’s office — while Dann, a Democrat from Liberty, served as attorney general — to fund a “cold-case” course at Youngstown State University, her employer. Lenhoff Dann was to be an instructor for the program.
“I have accepted full responsibility for my unintentional infraction of the law,” Lenhoff wrote in a prepared statement to The Vindicator.
“I deeply regret any embarrassment to my family, friends and colleagues,” she added. “I intend to work very hard to restore their trust and faith in my ethical compass.”

It’s funny how the Dann regime all agreed to talk to avoid jail time. Two points, when did any of them ever have credibility. And why would anybody believe a word they say. They have all lied continuously. At least throw the bunch in prison for perjury.
Did anyone doubt it would be more than a slap on the wrist? As long as you are a "white" collar criminal then you're really no criminal at all under the courts. Disgusting.
"Restoring faith and trust in my ethical compass"???
When you further slander the reputation of the valley its too late. There is no second chance. The damage has been done and valley residents suffer.
