LORDSTOWN — A midnight-shift dispatcher with the Lordstown Police Department was suspended without pay for four days in February for sleeping on the job for a second time in seven months.
Jim Luonuansuu, who also is a Newton Falls councilman and was a vocal opponent of consolidation of county dispatching operations, was a part-time Lordstown dispatcher from Nov. 6, 2000, until Dec. 24, 2007, when he became full time.
Brent B. Milhoan, Lordstown police chief, walked into the police station Feb. 2 and observed Luonuansuu sleeping. Luonuansuu works from 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. It is a one-person job.
Luonuansuu did not challenge the accusation or punishment and served the four days Feb. 9-Feb. 12.

I think they can go ahead and consolidate Mr. Luonuansuu right out of a job.
That is AWFUL. Someone's life could have been jeopardized.
I agree, this, in my few, is to be one of those jobs that every second counts, I feel letting him go is in the best interest of the citizens of Lordstown, If I were them I would be screaming from the rafters..
Why so many chances to jeopardize the lives of others in Lordstown. He'd been warned once. Seems to me he should have been out the door the second time.
It must have been another slow night . Send him to Youngstown for a few shifts and he wont be napping .
He was multi-tasking, he was likely in a cold room and waiting for his brain to get warmed up to operating temperature, dreaming of becoming the next Mayor of Newton Falls and trying to forget his nickname... Jimmy Lips
What a simpleton!
Outrageous,..
Just reading that little insight on that individual makes it clear that guy is and has been a tax dollar chasing burdensome nuisance on that entire area for a while.
But what else id clear is he's somebody's pet pig that's been able to carry him along because he flat out should be fired.
What did he have to do to get fired having discarded his duties again. Do something like wake up and smack snot out of the police chief for coming in and disturbing his rest?
It's clear he's somebody's pet so just allow him to change into his pajamas as his comfy attire for his shift,..
