Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport gets new director

VIENNA — The Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport here has a new director.

The Western Reserve Port Authority this morning hired Daniel Dickten, who started work today.

Dickten, 56, whose last job was properties manager at the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, has worked in the aviation field for 20 years and was in active duty as a helicopter pilot with the U.S. Army for seven years.

He will earn $72,500 in the first year of a three-year contract.

Scott Lynn, chairman of the port authority, which runs the airport, said Dickten understands the issues faced by the facility and will be a good fit because of his aggressiveness and intelligence.

Dickten is a Cincinnati native.

The airport manager’s job has been open since Steve Bowser left for a position in Southern California in August. He was due to earn $54,764 this year.
