TEA Party to sponsor tax protest

Published: Wed, April 14, 2010 @ 12:00 a.m.

Staff report

The Tri-County TEA [Taxed Enough Already] Party is sponsoring a tax protest at 6 p.m. Thursday on the Village Green.

The event, to take place on the last day to file income-tax returns without an extension, is all about taxes, says its organizer.

“Everyone onstage will be talking about taxes and how they affect communities and small businesses,” said Anita Fraser, president of the Tri-County TEA Party.

Dan Rivers, a talk-show host for 570 AM WKBN radio, will emcee and speak.

Others scheduled to speak at the event: Donald K. Allen and Bill Johnson, both Republican candidates for the 6th Congressional District; Dan Moadus, a Democratic candidate for the 17th Congressional District; ex-U.S. Rep. James A. Traficant Jr.; grocery store owner Henry Nemenz; Columbiana County Republican Chairman Dave Johnson; and Larry Everly, a tanning-salon owner.

Let's call this what it really is: an anti-Obama rally where angry white people can shout and complain about the fact that Obama won. It has nothing to do with taxes. Since Obama took office, taxes have been lowered for 95% of Americans. These racists just can't accept the fact that an African-American is their president.

They hate all liberals not just dark skinned ones. Sadly this fringe of maybe a few percent of Americans gets coverage way disproportionate to their numbers. Ya we have alot of stupid people--but people that are "teaparty stupid" really are not that numerous.

When you turn 65, you had better not sign up for Medicare. When you retire, you had better not collect Social Security. If you lose your job, you had better not collect uneployment. If you get sick you better pay for it out of your own pocket. If you don't, then you will be a hypocrite. Do you have hundreds of thousands of dollars saved up for when you someday have a heart attack, or get cancer? Is it fair that a millionaire business owner doesn't have to worry about getting sick, but a middle-class American, whose hard work helped make that guy a millionaire, has to go bankrupt if he gets sick? Is that working class person's life less valuable? Is he just supposed to let himself die, while some greedy rich guy gets to live? It's not about income redistribution...it's about fairness.

MindlessRoboticHalfwit, I'm a white, teapartier, racist and any other name you want to call me that could care less if your liar president was pink. I've worked hard all my life and made good decisions and not about to go away without a fight. You losers are done sucking money from me and my fellow tax paying Americans. You're so dumb you don't evev know that those of us who worked paid into that Social Security system and why shouldn't I receive any of my money? And answer USA's question: How does 95% get a tax cut when only 47% pay taxes? And what would you do if you were fed up with government? Would you just slink off into the designated area for losers? What would you do??? Amen that peabrainlover.

Obam lowered taxes on 95% of TAXPAYERS.

The teabaggers favor corporate welfare for companies like Exon who made 35 billion in profits in 2009 and paid no tax to the US government.

cambecile, what proof do you have that teabaggers favor welfare for Exxon or any other corporation? Besides, your democrats in congress write and sign the checks. They also have the power to change income tax laws, close out loopholes.Your problem is with your heroes, not the Tea Party patriots. Can't you see what they're doing to you,how they're using people like you? Tea baggers aren't against fellow taxpayers like you and me, they're against a government that has not cared about you and me for a long time. If One and Done had us on the road to prosperity I doubt but a very few would care what color he is. Hell, we don't care what color Lebron James is, long as he leads our Cavs to the championship.

nohope, I hope that's all there is to say. You're obviously just trying to rile people up,because you surely don't contribute a darn thing. Moron.

Ill say one thing for you USEless1-you have more of a brain than Sarah Palin. Why dont you run for office? Maybe move somewhere your ideas are appreciated more than in our Democratic stronghold.

Your welcome. You stand up every day and go toe to toe with us. However inartful your reasoning or condemned to failure your position-you can make an argument. Ms Palin wont say a word until the question is received in advance and someone writes the answer. I believe that she is one of a kind since the Roman Senate and first democratic process. Never before has a person risen in democratic politics without being able to stand and engage in the free exchange if ideas. (Well--atleast stand there)
