Kinsman, Farmdale sewer project planned for 2010

Published: Wed, September 30, 2009 @ 1:51 a.m.

WARREN — An $8 million to $10 million sewer project serving Kinsman and nearby Farmdale could start construction as early as next fall if an expected federal grant and loan is approved.

Rex Fee, executive director of the Trumbull County Sanitary Engineer’s Department, said an official with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and Rural Development advised him that a grant paying 75 percent of the project and a low-interest loan paying the other 25 percent is likely to be approved.

The county plans to submit a grant application to the USDA within the next couple of weeks.

Engineering work for the project should take six to eight months to complete, and the project could be put out to bid and started by fall or winter of 2010, Fee said.
