Identities sought for two men found shot to death on South Side

Published: Wed, September 16, 2009 @ 10:35 a.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for the identities of two men who were shot to death on the city’s South Side.

Police were called to the 2200 block of Glenwood Avenue just before midnight Tuesday by a 20-year-old South Side man riding a bicycle in the area. Officers found two black men in the front seat of a 1989 Oldsmobile sitting in large pools of blood and not showing any signs of life.

According to police reports, the car’s engine was still running when officers arrived at the scene. The car also was in the drive position with the deceased driver’s foot on the break.

The 20-year-old witness told police he was coming from a nearby convenience store when he heard about seven gunshots and saw the gray Oldsmobile coast to a stop.

Police do know who the 39-year-old owner of the car is, but are not saying if he is one of the men found dead inside the vehicle.

Why can't we get some type of tax/stimulus money to combat this problem.

Mayor Jay has an investigation going to see if the corner grocery store may have in some way contributed to this shooting . The culture has been know to express themselves around these stores . This all went according to plan as there was no resistance by the victims .

THE PLAN IS WORKING

Start with the drug problem? Combat the problem? These are just two more thugs off the street to be replaced by their spawn. It is a battle that will never be won. There are not enough police to handle this problem in Ytown (or any town).

I have called soooo many times to report drug activity in a home that my grandchildren reside in (names -familiar to YPD, plate numbers, addresses, phone numbers etc). I have been advised "Lady, we appreciate the info, but there are so many drug houses in Ytown, that as soon as we bust one, another pops up".

So what do we do arm them all, put them in the chevy center, and whoever is alive the next day put them in jail for life for murdering the others?

I'm sure WE wouldnt have to arm them but the rounding them up and putting them all together to "take care" of one another sounds like a perfect solution to me....the last person standing can clean up the leftover mess as a reminder to him/her of what could have been.
