Former principal loses her license in sexual assault case

COLUMBUS (AP) — The Ohio school board has taken away the teaching license of a principal accused of failing to report a sexual assault on a developmentally disabled student.

The Columbus school district fired Regina Crenshaw over the March 2005 assault at Mifflin High School. A 16-year-old girl told officials that at least two boys dragged her into the school auditorium, hit her and forced her to perform oral sex while another student videotaped the assault. The girl’s father said the school asked him not to call 911.

Tuesday’s 15-0 vote by the Ohio Board of Education permanently revokes Crenshaw’s license.

Messages seeking comment were left today for Crenshaw’s attorney, Toki Clark.

Crenshaw was acquitted of a misdemeanor charge of failing to report a sex crime.
