Published: Thu, September 10, 2009 @ 12:08 p.m.

BOARDMAN — Township police officers confiscated drugs, weapons and money at a Leighton Avenue home early today.

Sgt. Glenn Riddle of the Boardman Police Department said officers arrested Joseph Moreland, 65 Leighton Ave., on a felonious assault charge for a prior incident involving a Youngstown police officer.

Neighbors said police arrived around 10:15 a.m. with weapons drawn. Riddle said the smell of what appeared to be marijuana was evident when the home's door was opened. He said officers found multiple narcotics - including marijuana and heroin - an assault rifle and handgun along with an undetermined amount of cash.

Neighbors said Moreland had been living in the home for about a month.

Did this guy own the home, was he visiting it or was he just renting? I live in this area and have noticed alot of houses available for rent. I've also noticed some pretty precarious looking people living in these rentals. The slim from Youngstown seems to continue to encroach on the suburbs!
