Report: President Obama to visit Lordstown plant next week

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama plans to make a speech at General Motors assembly plant in Lordstown next week, according to a report from the Detroit News.

The White House won’t confirm the visit yet, but officials told the newspaper the president is planning the trip Tuesday as part of a Midwest swing to talk about jobs and the economy.

The president plans to highlight the fact that GM is recalling 1,050 workers next month to return to work at the Trumbull County plant.
