The city doesn't even own the museum. The Ohio Historical Society does.

Is it ironic that a museum to "celebrate our valley's labor and industry history" has faulty construction?

Check out this video. It's called Steel town 1944 and is about Youngstown.

Who cares? Nobody goes to that dump anyway. I'm shocked the state of Ohio hasn't shut it down. Your tax dollars at work!

It's actually not a dump at all. The architectural design of the building won the AIA Eastern Ohio Design Award and the Progressive Architecture Design Award. The museum itself is a fabulous look at the history of the steel industry and of labor in the Mahoning Valley. The history of steel and labor is extremely important, especially to this area; the industry was crucial to the development--and very existence--of this area and the country itself.

North_side_girl,

Not only is that video inaccurate, it's also narrated by some folks who nothing about the industry--or Youngstown history in general.

Well said Y-town boy! The Steel Museum is a real asset to the area, and when the deal goes through at YSU, will be a big draw for students in the applied history field.
