NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Agent Orange will be the topic when Lawrence County Veterans’ Affairs Director Shirley Noga presents her monthly benefits seminar.
The meeting is set for 10 a.m. to noon Monday in the County Commissioners’ meeting room in the basement of the Lawrence County Government Center.
Noga said Vietnam Veterans who believe they were exposed to Agent Orange should attend. Dan Slack, of the Butler County Veterans’ office will bring a map of heavily sprayed areas and will discuss various locations where exposure occurred.
Noga also pointed out that October has been designated Agent Orange Awareness Month due to a resolution introduced by Pa. State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-10.
Comments
"I died in Vietnam but did not know it" Those are the words of Vietnam vets exposed to Agent Orange in the book "Waiting for an Army to Die". Trouble is, by now most have died without a cent of compensation to them or their heirs, many of whom are also victims of Agent Orange transmitted genetically. Where's the justice in all this? Who has been charged, let alone convicted, of the colossal crimes committed against US troops by their own government?
Agreed . But let's not also forget that the equivalent of the Tri-County population was born with birth defects in Vietnam because of Agent Orange & they had no choice at all .
