STRUTHERS — Trent Toothman ran for two touchdowns and passed for 145 yards as Salem defeated Struthers, 41-7, in an All-American Conference White Tier football game on Friday night.

The Quakers improved to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.

Toothman’s scores covered 3 and 38 yards. He completed 9 of 12 passes, including an 81-yard touchdown to Ben Eisel. Eisel caught seven passes for 124 yards.

Also scoring for the Quakers were Austin Noel (19 yards), Eric Bailey (4) and Josh Knox (21).

For the Wildcats (1-6, 0-3), Dermayne Brooks scored on a 36-yard run. He finished with 95 yards on 14 carries.

Girard 41, Brookfield 0

BROOKFIELD — Ahmad Eggleston rushed for 89 yards and two scores as Girard (7-0, 3-0 AAC Blue) remained unbeaten.

Tallen Birmingham added 68 yards on the ground as the Indians, ranked No. 5 in the Associated Press poll and No. 2 in the Division IV Region 13 ratings, amassed 395 total yards, including 191 rushing.

Adam Charles completed 11 of 19 passes for 204 yards and three touchdowns, to Dominic Morgan, Michael Floravit and Landon Smith.

Girard held Brookfield (0-7, 0-3) to 113 total yards.

Newton Falls 35, LaBrae 6

NEWTON FALLS — Matt Brazin threw 71- and 51-yard touchdown passes to Harry Kline for the Tigers (5-2, 2-1 AAC Blue).

Brazin also had an 8-yard scoring toss to Kyle Clonch and scored on a 3-yard run. John Davis had the other touchdown on a 1-yard run.

Brazin completed seven of 18 passes for 136 yards.

For the Vikings (2-5, 1-2), Andre Elkins caught a 32-yard touchdown pass from Andrew Sukela.

Niles 27, Chaney 12

NILES — Blake Robinson rushed for 108 yards and scored touchdowns covering 6 and 48 yards for the Red Dragons (4-3).

Joe Moss caught an 18-yard touchdown pass from Zack Bailey while Cory Floyd had a 10-yard scoring reception.

The Cowboys (0-7) grabbed a 6-0 lead when Tyler Thompson scored on a 7-yard run in the opening quarter.

Breonde Bunch’s 69-yard scoring reception from Carlos Colon put the Cowboys ahead 12-6 in the second quarter.

Canfield 37, Beaver Local 7

LISBON — Canfield improved to 6-1 overall and 1-1 in the AAC Red Tier.

Beaver Local is 0-7, 0-3.

I wish struthers kids could catch a break!!! God knows there is talent there,we've been seeing it since the kids played little league football. Might little wildcats they were n still could b if someone please,please gets them a new coach for goodness sake!! Preferably someone who actually played football n knows the game!!! Lol. Sorry if this is offending any1 but ppl of struthers n parents are fed up with this. Time 4 a new coach is NOW!
