WARREN — A one-car accident killed two people and injured three others, the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported.
The OSHP Southington post said alcohol and “a very high rate” of speed were involved in the crash, which happed at 2:20 a.m. on North Leavitt Road in Warren Township.
David Eubank, 24, of Newton Falls, was driving a 1997 Ford Mustang when he lost control and hit a tree broadside, the patrol said. The car was ripped in half, with both pieces tumbling down an embankment.
Eubank’s passengers were all ejected. Rory J. Drnek, 25, of Mansfield, and Benjamin Bosley, 25, of Leavittsburg were killed. Both Eubank and Michael Lester, 24, of Leavittsburg are in St. Elizabeth Health Center, and Amber Hann, 23, of Newton Falls, is in Trumbull Memorial Hospital. All three were listed in critical condition Saturday night.
The patrol said the crash investigation will be turned over to the Trumbull County prosecutor.

Maybe the people would be alive today if all the police were not working a continous area? up the creek and/or Leon's were a Trooper was allegedly reported to upper management for sitting on a bar before?
I'm sure if you pull up their GPS history's like Lt. Dragovich probably does knows that he is not covering Trumbull County. Where was he on a Holiday Weekend when he forces his troops to work the weekend? How many Troopers were out that night?
You're forgetting the subject here. No number of troopers would have stopped this speeding car at that time and place. I pray for all the kids here, their families and friends. Amen
Irrelevant and illiterate-thanks for sharing JUrslin.
A group of partying drunks out having a good time. Now one of them, David, will spend time in prison for manslaughter. So sad!
Lets us remember, these kids have family. You cannot control the speed of the driver, no matter how many patrol officers you have. Prayer for all involved.
Our thoughts and PRAYERS should be with THE FAMILIES of these young people.
Yes, this is another TRAGEDY, that may have been avoided. But, it happened.
~~~GOD BLESS~~~may you all be safe.
My prayers go out for these young people and their families. JUrsiln, this is every parent's nightmare - kids think they're immortal and can cheat death. There aren't enough police in the universe to prevent this sort of thing.
JUrsiln, way to make an illiterate, stupid first post here.
This accident had NOTHING to do with police coverage. It was a poor decision by a group of young adults, and the results were tragic. I would never wish this on any family, but, thank goodness there were no other vehicles involved in this mess.
What bar were they leavining at 2:20 a.m. ? If any of these victims were members of my family I would have this bar shut down . Serving intoxicated patrons is unforgivable . Let's hope the Trumbull County Prosecutor finds justice on this case .
Not necessarily were they at a bar. Many other opportunities to drink are available. In fact a family member of the driver was posting on the Tribune last evening and stated that the the driver was NOT drinking at all. I thought it was unusual that the police statement immediately claimed that alcohol was involved. I'm sure the facts will come out soon.
FYI, the Tribune has since repeatedly gone and removed every comment posted to their stories about the accident.
Union you need to shut your mouth.Those men where good men both fathers.One mistake changed the life of 3 and took the life of 2.I knew both of those men and thay did not deserve what happned to them and that defentley dont need u running your mouth about somthing u know nothing about!!!! I want u to know union, If I ever have the privlage of meeting u face to face im going to teach u some manners boy!!!!!
rory and ben, may u both rest in peace.we will all miss you...everyone please preay fro dave mike and amber.
i agree with chrisuthe about what you said union, benny was a great guy and was soo sweet he was a great friend always keeping a smile on my face i love him andd miss him soo much, my prayers are sent out to his and rorys family i didnt know rory but heard great things about him, i also send my prayers out to mike, amber, and dave and there familys
the scary part about this...one of the Warren troopers was working that area going north and south from market to parkman that night and right before the call came in... he stopped a drunk on that road and took him back to the post for a test, FORTUNATELY he didnt get killed by the wreckless drunk driver on the road that night knowing he is protecting you all from the dangers of drinking and driving. this is a case that the state doesn't have the man power to stop these people who don't think that the combination of alcohol+cars+speed=DEATH hmmm?
i will add that the prayers are with the families that are suffering
and i will add another .. ddnt know you could judge what they do by you getting your gas for 5mins they work 8-12 hours in this county and yes maybe stopping for coffee means keeping more drunks off the road so please grab another cup of 'joe' state troops
Rory was my little cousin (only by a couple weeks) I am from Wyoming so I never got the chance to meet him. I feel it has nothing to do with how well your police patrol but the person driving should not get all the blame either. people make mistakes and alot of people drive drunk (Im not saying it is rite) but it happens so for those people who want to comment just keep it nice. even Rorys mom (my aunt) does not put blame on anyone. I just wish I could have met him.
