HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) — A young Cincinnati Bengals fan has been penalized for clipping — getting the football team’s stripes and “B” insignia cut into his hair.
School officials in the southwest Ohio city of Hamilton put eighth-grader Dustin Reader into in-school suspension Monday when he showed up with the new hairstyle in tribute to the Bengals’ good season. The school says its code of conduct prohibits extreme and distracting hairstyles.
The parents and barber all say they don’t understand why the haircut is out of bounds. Father James Reader says Dustin just wants to show pride in the 6-2 Bengals.
School officials say he will continue to do his studies away from other students until the hair grows back or he changes the style.

At least he won't have to sit in one of Ohio's overcorwded classrooms. He probably will benefit academically from this, so thats a plus.
At least The B didn't stand for The Browns. LOL
The news media needs to be more accurate and objective. This young man was not suspended for supporting a particular team - he was suspended for wearing his hair in a fashion that was not allowed by the school code of conduct.
His parents should make him shave his hair and get back to class. (and you may interpret class any way you wish.)
It must be great that the biggest problem that school has is what hairstyle the students are wearing. No one dropping out or flunking, no pregnancy, no drugs. Just amazing.
