Spurned suitor accused of damaging grave

Published: Fri, November 6, 2009 @ 5:40 p.m.

LANCASTER, Ohio (AP) — Police say when a woman refused to date an Ohio man, he got upset and smashed her mother’s grave marker with a sledge hammer.

Authorities in Fairfield County southeast of Columbus say 21-year-old Steven Locke of Lancaster thought it was the best way to hurt the woman who spurned him. Sheriff Dave Phalen says about $3,000 damage was done to the marker.

Locke was arrested today and charged with vandalism, a felony carrying up to a year in prison if convicted. He was jailed in lieu of $5,000 bond.

The woman made a fine choice in spurning this piece of trash . Far too many women end up getting married to a human disaster . Let's see what happens when he gets upset in prison .
