SHARON, Pa. — A crash closed Interstate 80 from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. Pennsylvania State Police in Mercer said the crash happened in East Lackawannock Township. Police would not provide any more information tonight.

PennDot should be ashamed of the mess they created with I-80 yesterday. What a mess.
I was stuck on I80 for over 3 hours until they had everyone do U-turns and ride down rumble strips wrong way all the way back to previous exit.
Their priority should be to clear accident sites immediately and resume traffic even if it was limited lane travel. Instead they treat these scenes like long term CSI investigations.
Better signage, lighting, road surface maintenance and snow and ice removal are needed on PA main arteries.
How many gallons of fuel were wasted? How many hourly employees lost wages?
