STAFF REPORT

LEETONIA — The village has started its 2009 fall leaf-pickup program, which began this week on the village’s north side.

It’s expected that it will take about two weeks to complete the first round on the north side.

The village plans to start the first round of pickup on the south side of town the week of Nov. 16, weather permitting.

The village will make one final leaf collection with a vacuuming machine after both sides of town have had the first pickup completed.

Residents will still have the option to rake and bag their leaves that will be picked up by the village for the next couple of months. The leaf pickup schedules depends on the weather conditions.

The village will not pick up piles of mixed materials such as brush and leaves. Residents will be responsible for having mixed- material piles removed at their own expense.

Village officials remind residents to put leaves in the curb lawn, or devil strip, and not in the street.
