Mahoning Co. sales tax destined for defeat

Published: Tue, November 3, 2009 @ 10:07 p.m.

It appears the Mahoning County commissioners will have to put the half-percent renewal sales tax on the May 2010 primary ballot.

With 240 of the county's 288 precincts reporting, the sales tax only has 43 percent approval.

The library tax issue and Children Services tax issue are on their way to approval.

You need to buy a clue.
You can't get something for nothing. If you want the county to provide NO SERVICES, then keep thinking like you do. BUT, do not complain when there are no cops, it takes hours to get a title checked or transferred, and the H1N1 virus infects your dumb ass.

Excellent - the voters have spoken. Now let the commissioners do their job of cutting friends and family out of the bloated county budget. I'm sure they will think of all kinds of ways to try and make county services life tough on the voters. The commissioners got what they deserved for lying to the voters that this was a renewal of the 5 year sales tax.
