Choffin Career Center in Youngstown reopens Monday

YOUNGSTOWN — Choffin Career and Technical Center is reopening Monday after repairs were made to the electrical system. The East Wood Street school had been closed since Wednesday morning because of electrical problems.

Tony DeNiro, assistant superintendent of school business affairs, said Sunday that repairs had been completed, and the school would open for normal operations.

The electrical service in the school shut down after an outage in an electrical-equipment room in the basement caused some smoke and a loss of electrical service.
