CAMPBELL — Soap Box Derby race for special needs children, the Tri-State Super Kids Classic, will be June 13 at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave.

Registration will be at 11 a.m. and the race at noon. The race is for physically and mentally challenged children from 8 to 17 years old.

Each child will have the opportunity to race in a soap box derby style car. The challenged children are co-pilots; a trained derby driver will actually drive the car.

Each participant will receive an assortment of gifts and a trophy. The winner will represent the local race in the National Super Kids Race in Akron.

Community support is being sought for the race. Individuals and organizations are needed as volunteers. Applications also are available. Contacts are the Rev. Mike Swierz, John Walczak or Cheryl Jablonski at St. Joseph, (330) 755-0266; Pam Dorfi, (724) 347-6009 or Ralph Lepley at (330) 716-5133.
