Published: Tue, May 26, 2009 @ 6:50 p.m.

SALEM — The Ohio Department of Transportation’s District 11 will begin work Monday to resurface almost 16 miles of state roadways in Columbiana County, including sections of U.S. Route 62 and state Routes 9, 14, and 173.

U.S. 62 will be resurfaced from state Route 165 to state Route 45, and state Route 14, and from state Route 9 to the Mahoning County line.

State Route 9 will be resurfaced from Salem’s north corporation line to the junction of U.S. 62. State Route 14 will be resurfaced from the Mahoning County line to state Route 173 and from just west of Washingtonville to Columbiana.

State Route 173 will be resurfaced from U.S. Route 62 and state Route 45 to Dodge Drive in Salem. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers.

ODOT’s contractor for this $2.37 million project is Central-Allied Enterprise Inc. of Canton. The completion date is Oct. 15.
