Former Trumbull deputies found guilty of stealing from their charity

Published: Fri, May 15, 2009 @ 5:05 p.m.

WARREN — For years, Peter Pizzulo and Anthony Leshnack enforced the law as sergeants in the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Department.

Both men became convicted felons today after pleading no contest to a charge of grand theft contained in a bill of information. A judge found them guilty.

Pizzulo, 46, of Howland, and Leshnack, 41, of Girard, were convicted of stealing thousands of dollars from the Ohio Narcotics Officers Association, a charity they founded in 2004. The organization was supposed to have raised funds to educate the public about drug and alcohol abuse.

The grand theft charge, a fourth-degree felony, means that the stolen money amounted to less than $100,000, but more than $5,000. Investigators said they’re still determining how much was actually taken.

I'm thinking of starting a charity

Citizens Fed Up With Corruption Association

... to educate the public about the corruption of government officials. Maybe congress will authorize some operating funds, like they did for ACORN

Don't worry, libs want to take away your guns but allow these guys to keep theirs. Heck, police don't even have a duty to respond as upheld in the supreme court.

Okay, once again......"these guys" are not all bad. "These guys" support you having guns because "these guys" know they can't be everywhere. Don't blame "these guys" for the liberal agenda. If you don't like them then don't call "these guys" when you need them.
What they did was wrong no doubt but if you look back over their careers they have helped people and put some seriously bad guys away. I'm not defending their crime but am saying that something caused them to go down this road and this incident while ruining their careers does not define their careers.

Actually Rokscout they are worse than a regular criminal. Anyone who holds a position of public trust and violates that is worse than the common criminal who holds up a convenience store. If more than defines their pathetic careers. Crooks in police uniforms is all they are. Yet another is a very long line of crooked officers in the valley.

Hey Vindy, we need an update on the YPD officer's two kids who were using daddy's car to go out breaking into houses. A blanket of silence seems to have hit that story.
