GIRARD — City police are looking for the man who fired several shots into the air after a dispute over a food stamp card.
According to police, a resident of Carver Street in the Hillcrest Trailer Park told officers she borrowed the food stamp card of a friend who was sick in order to purchase groceries for the friend. She said she was in the shower when the friend called and asked for the card back.
The woman told officers her friend, along with another man and a woman, came to her home Tuesday afternoon and demanded the card be returned. When she did not answer the door, she said, the man fired several shots into the air before driving away.
Police found two shell casings in the area.

Wow. Over a piece of plastic!
She BORROWED the food stamp card?...BORROWED sounds like a key word to me! Sure, she was going to buy groceries for her sick friend.."could I BORROW your card to buy YOUR groceries..pretty please?" Maybe she's lucky the shots went up instead of in!
Looks like three sets of charges should be filed here, against the woman who had the card for letting someone else use it, for the other woman for using it and for the man for firing shots.
The lives of the people at the low end of society revolve around the freebies they get from government. It wouldn't occur to these people to actually earn their own money for groceries.
