Beaver Township police find woman tied to chair in garage

Published: Fri, May 1, 2009 @ 8:15 p.m.

NORTH LIMA — Beaver Township police found an elderly woman tied to a chair in a detached garage on Western Reserve Road.

Boardman police assisted and Chief Patrick Berarducci said that late Friday afternoon a neighbor called in to Beaver to report the woman tied to the chair.

The red brick and wood garage sits at the Hitchcock Road intersection.

When police found the woman inside the structure, she told them that her son had tied her, Berarducci said, relaying information he gleaned from his officers at the scene.

Police searched the home for the man and as they were searching, he returned home and was taken in to custody.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

Beaver Township Detective Eric Dattilo said the case is a domestic issue under investigation.
