YOUNGSTOWN — Hanna showed up on Maria Guyan’s doorstep looking for love and a warm place to sleep.
What she found was a family to call her own.
Hanna is a 6-month-old, short-haired tabby cat. She was dropped off at Cat Ladies Society on Mahoning Avenue because her former family no longer had the means to take proper care of her.
Just a few weeks later, Marty Kish of New Middletown brought her daughters Jacquline, 7, and Kathrine, 5, to the shelter to find a new cat.
The girls chose Hanna.
“I liked her because she jumped right up on me,” Jacquline said.

I really like the No-Kill shelters. Angels for Animals gets a ton more publicity/money- but they are a kill shelter. They also perform abortions on animals.
Angels for Animals ARE not Angels! They were on the news a few weeks back, bascially saying.... if you just drop off your dog, they will put it down. The is a no kill shelter in Salem.
I have adopted a cat from The Cat Lady society, ashley, you can see his page on their website, they are a great group. They truly care about each individual cat, the cats arent just numbers, or a burden. The cats are all so friendly, and i think that is in part to the fact that they are so thankful for being given a second chance at life. Angels for animals, If they tried as hard to find homes for their animals as they try to gather money, well maybe they wouldnt have to kill every cat that gets dropped. Angels of Mercy, they are not.
Keep up the good work Maria!
I think people should stop donating to angels. They are a shelter?? They put animals down because they have to many and drop dogs off at the pound. They are a multi-million dollar facility and the smaller organizations take in way more animals. Everyone needs to give to the little guys!
Alchemy Acres Animal Sanctuary in Salem OH is a no kill shelter! They can use your donations!
