Thieves hit North Side man, steal items from his home

YOUNGSTOWN — Police are looking for the men who broke into a North Side man’s home and assaulted him while searching for valuables.
The 19-year-old Rhoda Avenue man said he was sleeping on a couch just after 5 a.m. Thursday when he was awakened by three men, all dressed in black and wearing masks, standing over him, according to a police report. One of the men punched him in the face as he tried to get off the couch.
The man told police the burglars grabbed a video game system and several games before running out of a living room door. The man told police the incident marks the second time unidentified men entered his home to steal items.

Being awake at 5 am doing a robbery means that these fellows were impoverished from a night of partying and needed to replenish their crack supply. The young man on the couch was lucky that he was punched in the face and a video game system stolen. Failing to have an adequate supply of money on hand to donate could have cost him his life.

Not the first time a home invasion happened at that time, I slept right through mine. Buy a loud angry dog and a gun and plenty of bullets. Like I did.

Exactly so how do you know what happened or the motive behind it...............you know the old saying when you "assume" you make an ass out of you and me. If most of you people go to work or mind your business maybe, just maybe, you would not have to voice your stupidiness. You are probably white and live in Austintown or Boardman and believe you me that a whole lot of BS goes on there as well but you never have a harsh comment you try to hide the crime, drug dealing and drug usage that goes on there.
Actually, Lady, I go to college full time and work 40 hours a week.
And so what if I am white? I'm not a suburban girl, though. I reside in Campbell, born in Youngstown, and raised in Struthers. Besides -- I'm well aware of the fact that crime occurs in the suburbs, too.

Oh the political incorrectness ! First they will charge you for discharging a firearm withithin city limits. ( Disregard the gunfire every day which intensifies as the sun goes down ,it comes under a different set of rules. ) Removing gun specifications from charges to reduce prison sentences is common in Youngstown. As a victim you are required to allow the crime to transpire and then call 911 if you can. A responce team will then be sent to confiscate your firearms. This is for your protection so you wont be charged with homicide after the next robbery. You may become vile after the first robbery and be trigger happy. Yep, the culture is protected !
YPD is even constrained in their responce to attacks against them by criminals. At all costs they are required to take the criminal alive. More police officers have been killed by criminals in Youngstown than criminals who have been killed by police officers.
Grocery store owners have taken criminals out during robberies in the past and it is held against them to this day. If criminals kill within close proximity to a store the grocer gets the blame for the crime and voices are raised to close all of the stores.

A homeowner from Campbell shot and killed a thief on his property that was in the act of stealing his car. The homeowner was charged and found guilty. After being sentenced to prison the thiefs family sued and was awarded the mans house.
If you shoot and kill in Youngstown you will be at the mercy of a jury selected in Youngstown. Any guess as to what the outcome will be ?

Run a motion detection video recorder at all entrances . Alarms on both doors and a panic button that dials 911 . Install a GPS tracking module on your car with a remote engine kill switch .

Looks can be very deceiving, especially for a girl.
