YOUNGSTOWN — A 70-year-old woman was pistol-whipped by one of two young male robbers and would-be kidnappers who confronted her as she arrived home from work at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.
As she got out of her car in her driveway in the 300 block of East Ravenwood Avenue, one of the men hit her on the head with a handgun and dragged her out of her car, she told police.
Both men asked her for her bank PIN number, and she told them she didn’t have one. The robbers demanded that she open her trunk, then used her key to open it themselves and tried to place her in the trunk, the woman told police.
The woman screamed, and a neighbor left a nearby residence, startling the robbers, who flung the victim against the side of her house before fleeing in the victim’s car, taking her keys and pager.
As they backed out of her driveway, the robbers tried to hit the victim with her car, she told police.
“Have a nice day,” a robber yelled from the car, according to the victim and her neighbor.
The victim was treated for bleeding from her lip and a large knot on her right forehead, police said.

That's terrible. How could you do that to anyone, let alone a 70-year-old woman?
Bad Boys, Bad Boys, what you gonna do when they come for you, Cowards?.....This is so wrong and I hope they get locked down!
In Youngstown you are on your own. There are far too many crimes and not enough resources to contain it. The solution? Generate jobs for an unskilled labor force and put these thugs to work. They have all day and all night to roam and do their thing.
I can't think of many things lower than for a couple of thugs to rob an older woman in her driveway. Despicable! They are obviously cowards. They should at least pick someone who can defend themselves for a fair fight.
Stan, "generate jobs for an unskilled labor force", is a solution? Shooting a few of them is a solution! You are correct, "in Youngstown you are on your own". If a few were to die in the act, by their intended victims, others may look for greener pastures.

It is politically incorrect to kill any of the thugs. YPD goes to extremes and at a risk of their own lives so as not to offend anyone.
As long as the thugs can roam 24/7 they put the whole city at risk. Work camps from the past during the last depression may be the answer.
Stan, do you really think these dirt bags would actually hold down a 8 hour job? They would rather sell their drugs and rob innocent people. As you say, "it is the culture."
That is why I stated in a earlier thread about Lordstown that the writer linked it to Cleveland rather than Youngstown. Even though Cleveland has it's problems it is head and shoulders above Y'town.
"Stan, do you really think these dirt bags would actually hold down a 8 hour job? "
As long as we easily dish out the welfare they have no need to work. A work camp would be supervised and they would have no choice in the matter. It would let them earn their keep. Let them rebuild the city and not contribute to the decay!
I stand by my assesment " shoot the -astards"
Two words: "street justice". The courts don't deliver justice, so maybe it's time for fed-up, law-abiding citizens to take matters into their own hands.
These are savage animals that have destroyed an entire city. These urban terrorists are the demise of the valley, but let's keep blaming it on the departure of the steel mills. Turn off the ever flowing welfare faucet and these animals will leave. If we quit feeding them, they will go away.
