Struthers firm submits lowest bid for Petersburg waterline job

Published: Wed, June 24, 2009 @ 6:40 p.m.

YOUNGSTOWN — Rudzik Excavating Inc. of Struthers was the lowest bidder for the Petersburg water supply line installation project at $1,159,212.

Bids on the project were opened today in the Mahoning County purchasing office.

The county commissioners must award the contract to the lowest and most responsive bidder according to the bid specifications and are expected to do so in three to four weeks.

The project is being funded by $800,000 in federal stimulus money.

Other financial support for the project is coming from the federal Community Development Block Grant program, the Ohio Public Works Commission, Springfield Township, Aqua Ohio and the East Fairfield Coal Co.
