Woman in custody after grandmother is stabbed

NEWTON FALLS — A 29-year-old Leavittsburg woman has been taken into custody and charged with attempted aggravated murder for allegedly stabbing her 81-year-old grandmother at the grandmother’s Ridge Road apartment today.

Newton Falls Police Chief John M. Kuivila said the condition of the victim is not known, but she was taken to an area hospital for multiple stab wounds.

Police responded to the apartment at 12:15 p.m.

It is a sad world when a 29-year-old granddaughter stabs her 81-year-old grandmother even once let alone multiple times.
