BERLIN CENTER — An open house celebration has been planned for July 18 in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Martin of Berlin Center, who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

The festivities are scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. and will take place at Berlin Center United Methodist Church, where they are members.

Serving as hosts for the festivity are their children and their spouses, Robin and Jim Ackley of Lisbon and Brian and Lissa Martin of Oxford.

The Chapel of Friendly Bells in Youngstown was the setting on July 11, 1959, as Mr. Martin and the former June Taylor were united in marriage.

Mrs. Martin was employed as a secretary with the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad in Youngstown from 1953 to 1966.

Mr. Martin served with the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He retired in 1995 from the maintenance department with the Ohio Turnpike Commission and is a member of the Public Employees Retirees Inc.
