Kelly Pavlik’s father and co-manager, Mike Pavlik on Thursday denied Internet reports that his son was in an alcohol rehabilitation center.
“There’s absolutely no truth to that at all,” Pavlik Sr. said. “Those are vicious, ugly rumors and there’s more than that out there.”
Mike Sr. said rumors about his son’s behavior have been circulating for weeks. Initially, the Pavliks tried to ignore them in hopes that they’d go away, but that has proven fruitless.
“We figured they were so absurd that they didn’t need to be addressed,” Mike Sr. said. “But they’re actually gaining momentum now.”
He said the Pavliks plan to call a press conference soon to refute the rumors. He also said the online stories have been forwarded to Pavlik’s legal team.
“I’m sure those will get addressed,” Mike Sr. said.
RingTalk.com writer Pedro Fernandez was the first to report the rehab rumor, citing an unnamed source in Youngstown. He has no plans to release the source’s name, he wrote.

Unfortunately Kelly is trying to lead a somewhat normal life as a public figure. I've heard numerous times how he's been seen out, having a little too good of a time and he's going to have to deal with it. I have also heard it said, more than a few times, Kelly likes his beer. Well I hope it isn't a problem, but he'll have to deal with one way or another. I wish him the best and hope his celebrity doesn't destroy him.
