Park’s summer events to begin

Summer movie night will be every Tuesday at the village’s Woodland Park.
McDONALD — The annual Woodland Park Summer Schedule starts Tuesday.
Park crafts will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday. The park pool will open at noon weekdays, weather permitting.
The Adult Volleyball program will begin June 15 and run every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday through June 29. The schedule for July is not set. Those who would like to participate should sign up at the municipal building by Wednesday. Team captains must have each player sign a release form, and the team entrance fee is $15, which must accompany the registration form and will be used to purchase tee-shirts for the champions of the tournament.
Summer Movies in the park will start June 16 at 8:45 p.m. The schedule includes:
UJune 16: “Bedtime Stories.”
UJune 23, “Bolt.”
UJuly 7, “The Wild.”
UJuly 14, “Pinocchio.”
UJuly 21, “Kung Fu Panda.”
UJuly 28, “Madagascar 2: Escape from Africa.”
UAugust 4, “Hotel for Dogs.”
UAug. 11, to be announced.
Story Time in the Gazebo will be at noon Mondays from June 22 through July 27.
Concerts in the park will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursdays from July 9 through Aug. 13 in Ramsey Pavilion. The concert schedule will be posted at the Municipal Building.
The John Pete Checker Tournament will be June 28. Sign up at the park before June 24.
Various special days also are planned at the park, including the Bike Rodeo set for June 27. Youths will join the village police for bicycle safety information, refreshments, prizes and games.
Tie Dye Day is June 30 from 1 to 4 p.m. Bring one item of clothing to tie dye.
Safety Day is July 17 with times to be announced. Village police, paramedics and firefighters will provide safety information, and prizes and candy will be given to participants.
Beach Day in the park is scheduled for July 24, and will include sprinklers, the pool, beach balls, sand castle supplies, Frisbee disc games, lemonade and sand art.
Ice Cream Sundae Day is July 31 from noon to 2 p.m. in the Woodland Park Pavilion. Come and create your own sundae.
Green-Up, Clean-Up Day will be August 9 starting at noon. Events will include recycling, planting, weeding and litter control.
The Village Youth Triathlon will be Aug. 13. Registration forms can be picked up at the Municipal Building after July 8.
Activities on the basketball, tennis and volleyball courts may not be available due to an extensive construction project during the summer.
