Judge gives cabaret in Austintown Twp. go-ahead to reopen

AUSTINTOWN — The Go Go Cabaret can get back into the adult-entertainment business as soon as today.

Judge Lou D’Apolito of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court ruled Wednesday that the cabaret on Clarkins Drive in the township has put specific measures in place to prevent any continued nuisance.

The club will be allowed to reopen today, the ruling states.

An earlier May 27 ruling had stated the club was a public nuisance and would be shut down for up to one year, with a provision that the cabaret may apply for release from the order after 90 days.

Now Go Go management “has re-written their employment policies, providing for pat-down searches, drug testing and criminal background checks,” the ruling said. “Other acceptable changes have been made to monitor the entertainers, employees and patrons.”

The Go Go Cabaret was shut down May 1 after a police raid that resulted in the arrests of several people on charges ranging from theft to drug trafficking.

The ruling also stated that the cabaret’s owner, Sebastian Rucci, had addressed township zoning issues.

A satellite dish with the silhouette of a woman’s face was removed from the property May 20. It had been the center of a zoning controversy for the club.

Rucci previously said removing the dish was just one step toward complying with the township’s requests. He could not be reached Wednesday.

Judge D’Apolito said in the ruling that keeping the club closed beyond the 90-day period won’t help prevent further illegal activities.

“It is now apparent that continuing the judgment will cause more harm to the cabaret, its employees and its patrons,” the ruling stated.

We will stop at nothing to keep Go Go Gone from our neighborhood 90 days not even up yet maybe the wh---s and drug dealers did the judge and court officers to get this done.
We will have petition and thousands of people sign it to keep the 12 month order then closed for good.
When police are called many many times per night with complaints and such everynight something will be done.
The Township Trustees are up in arms over this also just a bunch of trashy sh-t being allowed back to do same illegal things as before.

Actually the only township trustee that is still fighting is Ditzler. And quite frankly, cwis, just because you are against something doesn't mean it can exist. Contrary to your belief the world does not revolve around thoughts and ideals. Get over it. The club will be back and you can't do a thing about it! And i also see that you have called Judge D'Apolito and his court officers dirty. Hope you have to go in front of him some day and tell him you think he's dirty to his face, you idiot!

The demand for such services calls for the supply to increase in order to serve the market. It is good that there is now 3 facilities of this type to serve customers and to provide employment to fine young women. Competition is good, it prevents prices form being overinflated and allows prices to settle at equilibrium. If police are called excessively for nonsense reasons to this facility, then those making the calls should be cited for abusing the 911 system. I believe you are just jealous cwis about the fact that the owners and dancers at this place make more than you do. I'm glad D'Apolito is such a fair and honest judge.

One thing the club has going for it is that it's not really in anyone's neighborhood. There aren't any residences close by until you get further down 46.

cwis it sounds like some restrictions have been put in place to curb that sort of behavior

In the end they will sink themself again (Go Go) only a matter of time .

These trustees should be voted from office for hindering economic development. The exotic entertainment industry is a solid one, with continuing high demand and profits. Austintown would make a perfect destination community for those seeking this type of entertainment. The fast food restaraunts surrounding these areas would benefit substantially from the increased traffic. The hotels would profit form those who come from out of town to stay here and visit each and every dancer bar. In Rhode Island, the legislators there were smart enough to legalize indoor prostitution, and the bed taxes collected on the motels has been a windfall for the state.

An adult entertainment business is perfectly legal. Exotic dancers are respected by me 100x more than a welfare mother. The exercise provided by the dancing prevents the lady from becoming fat and obese like a typical welfare trash mother. The dancers typically have less children because they know each child results in a loss of income during pregnancy and from stretch marks. This extreme responsibility towards human reproduction saves the taxpayers much as compared to an obese, food stamp receiving, lazy, and entitlement-mentality welfare mother. The dancer will require less medical care due to her physical fitness. Austintown is the perfect community to bring all of these benefits and many more to our region.
Why this area always strives to get gambling approved yet do not want to fully exploit the entertainment industry is lacking in reason. As a wealth transfer mechanism, an exotic dance bar is far more efficient than a facility equipped with gambling machinery. No expensive or technically complex machinery is required. In gambling, odds are only slightly in favor of the house. As a result, the time required for a profit to be generated by the house is relatively lengthy. A dancer on the other hand, takes in money continuously, and the transfers are one-way with no "odds" or money going back and forth.
The number of worker-hours to generate a profit are substantially less, thus guaranteeing economic viability. It is a real WIN-WIN situation. We have the ability to make this area a destination hotspot with current laws. And yet some prissy-minded snobs try to block this due to an obsolete moral philosophy.
