Kent State warning: Watch out for a black bear

Published: Mon, July 27, 2009 @ 11:40 a.m.

KENT, Ohio (AP) — Add another worry for jittery incoming freshmen at Kent State University: a black bear has been spotted in the neighborhood.

The university warned students and staff Sunday night about a black bear spotted rummaging through garbage in Kent near campus. School officials urged people to avoid the bear and not to attempt to feed it.

State wildlife officials have been tracking a young bear in the area for several days.
