CAMPBELL — The police department says parents who don’t adequately supervise their children risk being charged with endangering.
Kids under 18 have a 10 p.m. curfew, even on weekends, in the city.
Parents will be held accountable for curfew violations and for children who get into trouble because they weren’t supervised, no matter what time of day, said Detective Sgt. Dave Taybus.
The department will be charging parents in response to numerous problems with juveniles lately, Taybus added.

OK, lets hear it from the liberal crowd how the parents shouldn't be held accountable !
Good move, finally cracking down on the real problem!
Did this just start recently? 'Cus there's been plenty of nights when I've seen little brats wandering the neighborhoods in Campbell...
parents should all be as responsible as the hogans
Parents whom try to do the best for their children still have difficulties especially with teens. If the parents are held responsible so should the teens for actions which are not appropriate because as adults we remember times when we were teens who tried to think of ways to do actions which were not appropriate without our parents knowing. I hate to say it but....yeah right. These parents are never around, or if they are they're not paying any attention. My mom worked 3-11p and sometimes 7p-7a when I was in high school as a nurse. I never went wandering around town but I did have friends come over when they weren't supposed to. Teenagers do that kind of stuff when no one's looking. I'd love for the parents to be held accountable, but these parents are virtually invisible.
I hope these Campbell parents do their part. Sgt Taybus, Officer Mays Officer Bloomer Officer Rauzan and Officer Rusnak and other Campbell cops have really tried to help the kids in the city. Hopefully parents will work with the cops to fix the issues.
I suggest public spankings of parents AND kids.
Excellent idea, henryviii. We've taken all the shame and taboo out of being a total MORON. Tie them all up in the middle of downtown and let people yell and throw things at them...the parents, that is...
